Abstract | ||
The purpose of this research was to discribe the Types and nature of athletic injuries incurred by disabled athletes. Injuries included skin injuries (abrasion, blister, laceration), muscle- tendon strain, bursitis, tendonitis, joint sprain and bone fracture that occured in both Training and competition. An increased number of participants and on increased level of competition can lead to high rates of injury of disabled ahletes. Prevention of injuries: Improving the overall physical Training activities includes flexibility, strength and aerobic and anerobic training. At the appropriate time strength training, Range of motion and coordination exercise, use proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation patterns of exercise. prevention of wrist injuries can be accomplished through muscle strengthening of the flexor and extensors of the fore arm, padded push rims, and the use of gloves when pushing the wheelchair. Treatment: Rest, ice, and ultrasound are useful during the injury management phase. | ||
