Abstract | ||
The effectiveness of several insecticide formulations was evaluated against emigrated overwintered adults and 3rd-4th instar nymphs of cereal sunn pest. In 1992, granules of fenitrnthion , chlorpyrifos and diazinon showed a higher mortality rate on adult sunn pest than the related emulsions during 22 days of application time. Granules of fenitrothion and diazinon and emulsion of fenitrothion were round to cause a higher mortality rate on nymphs in comparison to the rest of insecticide formulations. The percentage of damaged kernels in treated areas using these formulations was significantly lower than the control. Emulsions of chlorpyrifos and fenitrothion considerably reduced the populations of lady bird bectle , sirphid Ilics and scclionid wasp. The effect of granular carbofuran, disulfoton . diazinon and chlorpyrifos on these beneficial insects was less than the above emulsions, respectively. In 1993, knitrothion granule had a better performance for controlling nymphs than emulsion whereas for diazinon, the effect was reversed. The better performance of fenitrothion granule in controlling overwintered adults compared with emulsion was confirmed in 1995 experiments. | ||
