| مسئله‌ی نسبت دین و انسان از مباحث بنیادین در فلسفه، جامعه‌شناسی و الهیات است که با تحولات فکری و اجتماعی همواره دستخوش تحولاتی بوده است. در دوران مدرن و به طور خاص در غرب، رشد عقل‌گرایی، سکولاریسم و فردگرایی، منجر به طرح پرسش‌های مهمی در حوزة دین شده است. در این میان، جوزایا رویس، فیلسوف ایده‌آلیست آمریکایی، با ارائه‌ی نظریه‌ی «جامعه‌ی وفاداران» کوشیده است تا چارچوب نوینی برای تبیین پیوند دین، اجتماع و هویت انسانی ارائه دهد. او دین را نه صرفاً مجموعه‌ای از باورهای متافیزیکی، بلکه تعهدی اخلاقی و اجتماعی به یک اجتماع معنوی می‌داند که در آن، وفاداری به ارزش‌های متعالی و خیر جمعی، جوهره‌ی دینداری را تشکیل می‌دهد. این جستار، با اتخاذ روش تحلیل توصیفی-انتقادی، نظریه‌ی رویس را در نسبت با چالش‌های معنویت در جهان معاصر مورد نظر و تأمل قرار داده است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که علی‌رغم تأکید رویس بر نقش دین در تقویت انسجام اجتماعی، نظریه‌ی او با نقدهای مهمی مواجه است؛ از جمله ابهام در تعریف جامعه‌ی وفاداران، نادیده گرفتن ابعاد وحیانی و عرفانی دین، و امکان سوءاستفاده‌ی ایدئولوژیک از مفهوم وفاداری. مقایسه‌ی آرای رویس با سنت فلسفی اسلامی نشان می‌دهد که برخلاف رویکرد او که دین را عمدتاً نظامی اجتماعی-اخلاقی تلقی می‌کند، در اندیشه‌ی اسلامی ایمان به وحی و حقیقت متعالی، بنیان دینداری را تشکیل می‌دهد. | ||

| The relationship between religion and humanity has been a fundamental issue in philosophy, sociology, and theology, undergoing various transformations in response to intellectual and social developments. In the modern era, particularly in the West, the rise of rationalism, secularism, and individualism has led to critical questions regarding the role of religion. In this context, Josiah Royce, an American idealist philosopher, proposed the theory of the "Beloved Community" as a novel framework to explain the connection between religion, society, and human identity. According to him, religion is not merely a set of metaphysical beliefs but rather an ethical and social commitment to a spiritual community, where loyalty to transcendent values and the collective good forms the essence of religious life. This study employs a descriptive-analytical method to examine Royce’s theory in relation to the challenges of spirituality in the contemporary world. The findings indicate that, despite Royce’s emphasis on the role of religion in fostering social cohesion, his theory faces several critical challenges. These include ambiguity in defining the "Beloved Community," neglect of the revelatory and mystical dimensions of religion, and the potential ideological misuse of the concept of loyalty. A comparative analysis of Royce’s ideas with Islamic philosophy reveals that, in contrast to Royce’s perspective—where religion is primarily conceived as a moral-social system—in Islamic thought, faith in divine revelation and transcendent truth constitutes the core of religiosity. | ||
