| Management professionals and public administrators are facing a new challenge on how to use information and cope with the economic era of information. The answer to this question depends on how I11anagenlent information and decision-making support systems are organized and utilized in an organization. The understanding and support of the management play very important roles in how these systems are developed and applied. Improper managell1ent vision coupled with conflicting views results in organizational InisI11anagelnent and deteriorating effects of information on decision making process. This in turn leads to managment mistrust and confusion a bout its role in the organization. In this paper different views on top management roles in the information technology are examined and discussed. And then their implications, specifically, for public adI11inistration in Iran are emphasized. Sollie reCOlnI11endations are suggested on how the public sector may portion the task out in order to make effecfive use of this information technology. | ||
