In this article after reviewing different definitions of technology and technology transfer, the problems of the existing modes of technology transfer especially to the third world is considered. the article then proposes the conditions for a successful transfer of technology, along with the misconsequences of unsuccessful technology transfer. In the last part of the article reference is made to the Iranian situation.
