| چکیده | ||
| «افراشتگیِ پیش‌خیشومی» فرایندی است که طی آن واکۀ افتاده /A/ در بافت پیش از همخوان‌های خیشومی به واکۀ افراشتۀ [u] تبدیل می‌شود. در حالی که این فرایند در برخی از واژه‌ها به‌طور اجباری رخ می‌دهد، در برخی دیگر اصلاً رخ نمی‌دهد. در برخی واژه‌ها نیز رخداد آن اختیاری است که گوناگونی آزاد یا اختیاری‌بودگی (optionality) نامیده می‌شود. هدف این پژوهشِ تحلیلی، تبیین رخداد اجباری و اختیاری و عدم رخداد این فرایند در چارچوب نظریۀ بهینگی (پرینس و اسمولنسکی، 1993/2004) و رویکردهای زیرشاخۀ آن است. رخداد اختیاری افراشتگیِ پیش‌خیشومی با بهره‌گیری از رویکرد رتبه‌بندی آزاد که در آن یک درون‌داد با دو برون‌داد دستوری انطباق دارد مورد تحلیل قرار گرفته است. عدم رخداد یک فرایند با وجود فراهم بودن بافت واجی لازم برای رخداد آن، در واج‌شناسی زایشی با عنوان «استثناء» (exceptionality)شناخته می‌شود. استثناءها در رخداد فرایند افراشتگیِ پیش‌خیشومی می‌تواند ناشی از دلایل واجی شامل اِعمال انحصاری آن بر بازنمایی واجی، از بین رفتن شرایط رخداد آن توسط یک فرایند دیگر (تعامل زمینه‌برچین)، یا وجود واکۀ /u/ پس از همخوان خیشومی باشد. همچنین، دلیل وجود استثناءها می‌تواند معناشناختی یا تاریخی (غیرزبان‌شناختی)، یعنی توقف رخداد اینفرایند در چندین سده پیش باشد. این دو مورد به ترتیب با بهره‌گیری از «محدودیت‌های دسترسی‌دار به واژگان» و «محدودیت‌های خاص به لحاظ واژگانی» تحلیل شده‌اند. | ||

| Pre-nasal raising is a phonological process in Persian through which the low vowel /A/ changes to the high vowel [u] in the environment before nasals. While this process is obligatory in many words, it fails to occur in some words. Moreover, its occurrence can also be optional as an instance of free variation which is called optionality. This research aimed at analyzing exceptionality and optionality in the occurrence of pre-nasal raising within the framework of Optimality Theory (Prince & Smolensky, 1993/ 2004) and some related approaches. The optionality is analyzed using the free ranking approach which maps a single input onto two outputs. The exceptionality could be due to phonological reasons including the exclusive application of pre-nasal raising on the underlying representation, destruction of its input by a preceding process (bleeding order) or existence of a post- nasal /u/. It could also be due to semantic and non- linguistic reasons, i.e., this process stopped to apply several centuries ago. Instances of exceptionality which are due to phonology- semantics interactions or the non- linguistic reason are analyzed using lexical-access constraints and lexically specific constraints, respectively. | ||
