| چکیده | ||
| Today, the debate over whether religion and religious actors can be influential in various political levels seems to be over and unnecessary. Rather, the discussions of experts are now focused on the question of how religion should be treated and interpreted. Is religion in international relations an object that can be examined and explained by various IR theories, or can religion itself act as a subject and provide an independent perspective and worldview in the form of a scientific theory for understanding and interpreting the world? In response to this question, there are two views among experts that will be discussed in this article. Some believe that it is possible to address religion in the form of existing IR theories, and others argue for the need to process independent theories by emphasizing the inadequacy of existing theories when referring to religion. While accepting the second view, this paper proposes that in the current state of IR discipline and given the inherent failure of existing theories of this knowledge to understand and interpret the behavior of religious actors caused by fundamental meta-theoretical differences, it is completely possible to develop a religious theory that can provide researchers with an independent perspective and worldview. This hypothesis, if proven, would underpin the formation of the religious theory of International Relations. | ||

| امروزه با اثبات نقش مؤثر دین در روابط بین‌الملل، بحث‌های صاحب‌نظران بیشتر ناظر بر این پرسش است که چگونه باید به دین پرداخت و چه تلقی و تعبیری از آن داشت؟ آیا دین در روابط بین‌الملل یک موضوع بررسی و شناسایی است که می‌توان از منظر نظریات موجود روابط بین‌الملل به آن نگریست و ابعاد و جوانبش را مورد مطالعه قرار داد یا اینکه دین خود می‌تواند به‌عنوان یک فاعل شناسا عمل کند و منظر و جهان‌نگرش مستقلی را برای فهم و تفسیر جهان در اختیار ما بگذارد؟ در پاسخ به پرسش مذکور، مقاله حاضر این مدعا را مطرح می‌سازد که در برهه کنونی هر دو فرض برای دین متصور است. دین هم می‌تواند به‌عنوان متغیر مستقل یا وابسته، موضوع مطالعه نظریات گوناگون روابط بین‌الملل باشد و هم با توجه به نارسایی ماهوی این نظریات در فهم و تفسیر رفتار کنشگران دینی ناشی از اختلافات بنیادین فرا نظری قادر است منظر و جهان‌نگرش مستقلی را در اختیار پژوهشگران قرار دهد. لکن نگارنده با ترجیح فرض دوم ضمن بررسی دلایل ناتوانی نظریه‌های موجود از تبیین جامع نقش دین بر ضرورت نظریه‌پردازی مستقل دینی به‌عنوان فاعل شناسا تأکید می‌ورزد. این فرض در صورت اثبات، زمینه‌ساز شکل‌گیری نظریه دینی روابط بین‌الملل خواهد بود. مقاله روشی توصیفی ـ تحلیلی دارد و از تکنیک کتابخانه‌ای برای گردآوری داده‌ها بهره جسته است. | ||
