| کشف یافته های دورۀ ماد و هخامنشی از شهر همدان با توجه انتساب این شهر به پایتختی ماد و استقرار تابستانی شاهان هخامنشی و عدم شناسایی هگمتانه مادی، حائز اهمیت بسیار است. در سال 1396 و در جریان یک عملیات عمرانی در میدان امام خمینی‌شهر همدان در نزدیکی محوطه هگمتانه، مواد فرهنگی از دوره‌های مختلف تاریخی شناسایی گردید و کاوش اضطراری به سرپرستی محمد شعبانی در این محل با هدف بررسی وضعیت آثار شناسایی‌شده، شکل گرفت. لایه‌های باستانی موجود، علی‌رغم مخدوش شدن بسیار آنها، معرف دوران اسلامی، اوایل اشکانی، سلوکی، هخامنشی و ماد بود. طبقه III که مستقیماً بر روی خاک بکر شکل گرفته بود، با توجه به سفالینه‌های مکشوفه معرف استقرار عصر آهن3 یا دورۀ ماد بوده که در دورۀ هخامنشی نیز تداوم پیدا کرده است. سفالینه‌های این طبقه که از نظر ساخت به انواع ظریف، معمولی و خشن طبقه‌بندی می‌شوند، در قالب زیرگونه‌های نخودی، نخودی مایل به قهوه‌ای، خاکستری و ظروف آشپزخانه‌ای ظاهر می‌شوند. بیشترین اشکال را کاسه‌ها و سپس کوزه‌ها شکل می‌دهد. در بین فرم‌های رایج، کاسه‌هایی با دسته‌های افقی چسبیده به لبه که شاخصه سفال مادی است و نیز کاسه‌هایی با لبه S شکل و کوزه‌هایی با آبریز شبدری شکل دیده می‌شوند. سفالینه‌های این دورۀ همگونی زیادی با سنت سفالگری محوطه‌های مادی به‌ویژه محوطه‌های ماد غربی از جمله گودین تپه II، نوشیجان، باباجان I-II، گونسپان پاتپه، تپه یلفان، موش تپه و تپه حاجی‌خان دارند. در مواردی ظروفی از قبیل کاسه‌های با بدنه زاویه‌دار و زورقی شکل، پیاله‌های کوچک ساده و کوزه‌هایی با لبه مثلثی شکل نیز با محوطه‌های هخامنشی از جمله پاسارگاد و تخت‌جمشید و حتی حسنلو III قابل مقایسه هستند. بر اساس مقایسه داده‌های سفالی این دوره با محوطه‌هایی چون گودین II و باباجان I و II، استقرار در طبقه III محوطه میدان احتمالاً بعد از نیمه قرن هفتم ق.م شروع‌شده و تا اواخر دوران هخامنشی ادامه یافته است. | ||

| Considering the lack of finds dating to the Median and Achaemenid periods at Hamadan, it is very important to discover evidence from this period in this city. In 2017, during a construction operation in Imam Khomeini Square in Hamadan near the site of Hegmataneh/Ecbatana, some historical-era were identified and an emergency excavation led by Mohammad Shabani began. Excavation in this area uncovered three levels: late Islamic, post-Achaemenid and Medo-Achaemenid. Level III, the lowest layer, according to the excavated ceramics, represents the establishment of Iron Age III, or the Median period, which has continued in the Achaemenid period. The pottery of this period, which is classified into Fine, Common/Medium, and Coarse types, appears in the form of subspecies of Buffware, Brownish-Buffware, Grayware, and Cooking ware utensils. The most common vessel forms are bowls and jars. Among the Common types, there are bowls with horizontal handles attached to the edge, as well as bowls with S-shaped edges and jars with clover-shaped spouts. The pottery of this period is remarkably similar to the pottery tradition of Median sites, especially sites such as Godin II, Nush-e Jan, Babajan I-II, and Yelfan Tepe. In some cases, vessels such as bowls with angled and boat-shaped bodies, small simple cups, and jars with triangular rims are also comparable to Achaemenid sites such as Pasargadae and Persepolis, and even Hasanlu III. Based on the comparison of pottery data of this period with sites such as Godin II, Babajan I, and II, the settlement of the third level of Meydan probably began between 7th and 6th centuries BCE and continued until the end of the Achaemenid period. The findings of this period are very important due to the great ambiguities and challenges related to the Median and Achaemenid settlement of Hamadan and also the lack of identification of layers and cultural materials dating to this period, even after a century of archaeological excavations in this city. | ||
